Differences Between Tumbled Travertine and (http://maplered.com) Tumbled Marble

I like both tumbled travertine and (http://maplered.com) tumbled Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) . Is one better than the other (more durable, less maintanence, etc.?) They look similar, and (http://maplered.com) I believe both need to be sealed, but I wondered how they differ. Is travertine "rougher"? Is travertine usually more $? (This is for a backsplash that will go along perimeter Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) s behind sink, under window sill and (http://maplered.com) behind slide-in range.)

Also, I'm sure it depends on where you live, but approximately how much would I probably need to budget for buying about 25 sq. ' of tumbled Marble (http://www.lightemprador.com) or travertine? I imagine the labor to install the tile is at least what the Material (http://g654.org) s cost? I am planning a simple 4x4 backsplash up to the bottom of the cabinets, perhaps with a "focal point" behind the range.
